Job Title: Level 3 Network Engineer with PostgreSQL Support
Location: Liberty, NC 27298

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Level 3 Network Engineer with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL (Postgres) database support. This role combines traditional network engineering tasks with database support responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates with a diverse technical skill set. The role also involves providing end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and contributing to the seamless operation of industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Support:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting for networking issues in industrial environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain PC, desktop, laptop, and printer systems.
• Respond to and resolve incidents logged in the ServiceNow (SNOW) ticketing system.
• Provide support to VIP users and respond to change management requests.
• Perform Install/Move/Add/Change (IMAC) activities, ensuring all network hardware and peripherals are operational.

PostgreSQL (Postgres) Database Support:

• Provide basic and moderately complex support for PostgreSQL databases, including:
• Database configuration, optimization, and backup management.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database connectivity and performance issues.
• Collaborating with IT teams to ensure database integration with other systems.
• Understand and support database queries related to application functionality.
• Assist with database monitoring to ensure data integrity and availability.

General IT Support:

• Set up and manage iPhones and other mobile devices for end-users.
• Perform hardware repair and troubleshooting for PCs and printers.
• Provide technical desk-side support and ensure user satisfaction with minimal supervision.
• Follow and document ITIL-aligned processes and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial or end-user environments.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (Postgres) support and troubleshooting.
• Technical Expertise:
• Knowledge of ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar ticketing systems.
• Proficiency with hardware repair tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with ITIL methodologies.
• Understanding of networking hardware and systems.
• Certifications:
• A+ certification (desired).
• OEM certifications (preferred).
• Any customer-specific certifications as directed by management.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Quick problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Strong customer service skills and a focus on user satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Must own and maintain a basic repair kit.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with industrial environments and their unique IT challenges.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting mobile devices (iPhones, iPads).
• Experience with printer maintenance and repair.
