Responsibilities:
- As a Network engineer you will be responsible for developing, documenting, reviewing and executing component and system-level hardware validation for our Ethernet connected devices. You will collaborate with design and system engineers to characterize the functional performance of the Client ethernet system. You will work with suppliers to clarify requirements and review validation documentation. Projects range from interface compliance testing to developing test assets.
- Test Execution
- Work with suppliers to execute ethernet validation
- Conduct functional, compliance, performance, environmental and reliability testing
- Test Infrastructure Development
- Develop custom test assets, set-ups and python scripts to enable efficient testing
- Support procurement of network test infrastructure
- Documentation
- Draft and present Test Plans, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews and Data Reviews
- Review and consult on test plans and reports from suppliers
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
- 6+ years of professional work experience
- Hands-on experience in testing Automotive Ethernet products and troubleshooting issues
- Experience using ethernet lab equipment (Ixia or Spirent)
- Experience using IxNetwork or TTworkbench
- Familiarity with IEEE 802.1AS Ethernet standards for Time Synchronization
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
- Systems and networking foundational knowledge (systems architecture, memory hierarchy, storage subsystems, LANs, routing)
- Experience with:
- Automotive Ethernet switching chipsets (i.e. Broadcom, Marvell), TCP/IP, L2/L3 etc
- Automotive Ethernet standards
- IEEE 802.3x Ethernet standards and both NRZ and PAM-4 signaling
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications are a plus
- Common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, MDIO)
- Requirement-Test Case management tools (Polarion preferred)
- Ubuntu operating system and Command Line Interface
- Python scripting
- Atlassian software products (Jira/Confluence)
