Job Description:
Reporting into Technology Platform Strategy and Architecture group, the Platform Architect is accountable for leading the development of technology architectures, for the planning and development of solutions as part of the overall Technology Platform in support of business requirements, and for supporting operational activities as part of architecture governance. The architect is responsible for providing High Level Design of the proposed solution and be able to articulate the architecture and technology choices to a variety of audience (senior management, delivery DevOps squad..). The platform architecture work is primarily focus on migrating workload to cloud, enabler our hybrid hosting strategy through blueprint (on-prem, cloud app blueprint, segmentation..)

Job Description:

Responsibilities
- Build a strong partnership across the Infrastructure and engineering organizations and drive the transformation roadmap and architecture.
- Analyze and understand user needs and expectations, as well as alternative infrastructure architectures and trends
- Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes, with a view to recommending infrastructure designs and strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
- Design services in the area of technology solutions, operations architecture and SWIFT standards.
- Articulate key aspects of architecture and design (e.g., scalability, availability, manageability, robustness, appropriate incorporation of new technology) through models, documentation, and code ; present architectures to executive management, clients, and developer teams
- Execute projects using various technology solutions.
- Infrastructure Advanced Certification (VMware, Microsoft, RedHat, Cisco, etc.) or hyperscaler Advanced Certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with Private / hybrid cloud solutions either commercial tools (VMware, BMC, Client, Cisco, Microsoft) or OpenSource (Openstack, Cloudforms, etc.).
- Strong experience with container technologies (OpenShift…) and related storage
- Experience with automation and Orchestration of infrastructure operational processes (Ansible, BMC, VMware, Red Hat, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
- Knowledge of main hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V) and network virtualization (NSX, etc.)
- Familiar with main operating systems (Linux and Windows) and middleware (appservers, webservers, databases and others).
- Experience with Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Experienced in technology consulting assignments:
- Data Center Transformation assessments
- Definition of Infrastructure Strategies and Roadmap
- Architecture Design and Implementation of Infrastructure and Automation Solutions.
- Optimization of compute and storage
- Migration between Data Centres and/or to Cloud
- Strong understanding of Service Management principles
- Developing mechanisms and controls to meet security and audit compliance;
- Utilizing Zero Trust Architecture, Firewalls, and Load Balancers; and automation tools for monitoring and configuration management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field (i.e., Business, Computer Science or Information Systems) from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience. Masters in Business Administration preferred.
- Experienced in defining and driving the Infrastructure transformation for mid to large sized organizations.
- Experienced working in a secure fintech environment with an understanding of applications and infrastructures, including HPC (High-Performance Computing) and confidential compute.
- 20+ years of progressive experience as a hands-on technical leader in a large technology organization with international work experience
- Embraced and worked as a leader of agile methodology for Cloud and DevOps.
- Experience in leading direct and indirect orgs of staff.
- Experience successfully managing cross-functional relationships with senior functional leaders.
- Experience driving application rationalization and transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategies.
- Proven experience in building, developing and engaging a high-performing global team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to influence stakeholders.
- Travel may be required based on needs.

- Past experience in working on strategy and execution of observability roadmap for areas across infrastructure.
