Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Civil CAD Designer to join our growing team in Los Angeles. In this role, you will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed engineering drawings and contribute to various civil infrastructure projects. Working alongside our engineering teams, you will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive site development plans and technical documentation.
- Develop and modify civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for site development, grading, and infrastructure projects
- Create detailed plans for drainage systems, utilities, and roadway infrastructure
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation for civil engineering projects
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure accurate plan development
- Review and verify drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards
- Implement CAD standards and best practices across project documentation
- Support the development of sustainable design solutions and ADA-compliant infrastructure
- Maintain organized digital drawing files and project documentation
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in civil CAD design, with emphasis on site development
- Proven expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including creation and modification of drawing sets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Associate's Degree or professional certification in Civil Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), or related technical field
- Strong understanding of civil engineering standards, practices, and technical documentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of site grading, drainage principles, and utility infrastructure design
- Familiarity with California building codes and local regulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with sustainable design practices and ADA compliance requirements
Additional Information
Compensation
KPFF values the contributions of our drafters and strives to provide fair and competitive compensation based on location and market standards. For this position, compensation includes:
- Hourly Pay: $70,000 to $105,000 per year depending on experience and education.
- Overtime Eligibility: Employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with local labor laws.
- Employees may receive a way we work allowance based on their commuting option.
