GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position of the Finish Line Inspector is to assure that all coils processed on the Finish Lines receive a
complete and thorough inspection, as well as ensure customer formats and requirements are being met.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The position of the Line Inspector is to assure that all coils processed on the Lines receive a
complete and thorough inspection, as well as ensure customer formats and requirements are
being met;
1. Inspect each coil processed on the Slitter/Blanking Line using current NAS Standards and
Customer standards to provide a thorough and accurate descriptions of defects.
2. Perform dimensional checks on each processed coil using a micrometer and tape
measure, and Ray tech Flatness table.
3. Record all inspection data in the AS400 Warehouse Inspection system.
4. Ensure that customer requirements are being met and formats are followed.
5. Line mark coils as required by certification code using Printer.
6. Ensure that defects that can be corrected on-line are reported to the op
7. Enter A.Q.N.S. on defective material as needed.
8. Perform sidewall inspections on each coil.
9. Adhere to all Safety Policies enforced by NAS.
10. Reports to and is accountable to Warehouse Supervisor.
11. Has authority over Line when Quality Problems are being caused by that particular
process line by informing Line Lead Operator.
12. Has contact with Operations and Technical personnel from NAS.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Other duties as assigned.
2. Participation in continuous improvement programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multi-task are a must.
Basic computer skills and ability to use inspection tools required.
Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent required.
Previous Quality Inspection experience preferred.
1. Mobility throughout facility.
2. Visual ability with or without correction.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
2. Follow Company safety rules.
3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor
or Manager immediately.
4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or
worn:
Safety shoes
Safety glasses
Hearing protection
5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the
Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work area..
