Millwright at Madden Industrial

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Millwright for our client in Portland, OR that deals with heat treatment of materials. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heat treatment furnace equipment and facility systems. Assist with equipment installation while adhering to safety and organizational standards.

 

Millwright Shift: Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3pm (overtime ~ on call)

Millwright Pay: 32+/hr DOE

 

Millwright Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including welding and fabrication.

  
  


• 
  

  Interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  
  


• 
  

  Recommend and manage spare parts inventory.

  
  


• 
  

  Relocate, install, and dismantle plant machinery and equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide daily project updates to the Maintenance Supervisor.

  
  


• 
  

  Participate in an on-call rotation, responding within one hour of contact.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct routine inspections of furnaces and compressors.

  
  


• 
  

  Address general building repairs and maintenance needs.

  
  

 

Millwright Qualifications:

• 
  

  3+ years of experience

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, with basic low-voltage electrical knowledge (DC to 120V AC).

  
  


• 
  

  Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication.

  
  


• 
  

  Forklift certification (provided by employer); LME certification preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and measurement systems.

  
  

 

Millwright Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• 
  

  Frequently required to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and work in confined spaces or at heights.

  
  


• 
  

  Exposure to moving machinery, electrical systems, extreme heat, and industrial chemicals.

  
  


• 
  

  Must adhere to strict safety protocols at all times.
