Overview
Our client is seeking a Merchandising Operations Analyst on the Catalog Systems. Catalog Systems sits within the larger Merchandising Systems & Services team (MSS), which is responsible for creating the systems, services, and process infrastructure for all businesses. The team’s mission is to be the backbone for Business/Category teams, helping win long-term customer trust, business growth, and profitability. We own the Pricing, Catalog/Content, and Vendor Systems & Services that have automation, product, program, and operational components.
The ideal candidate will provide a strong mix of information systems and merchandising business process knowledge including data analysis, functional knowledge of catalog and/or ERP systems, and technical knowledge of underlying system data structures and processes. The ideal candidate is innovative, detail-oriented, driven and demonstrates a high degree of ownership in all they do. This skill set will be applied to item-level data across the catalog, ensuring accuracy and completeness, ultimately influencing the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- New Item Setup: Add new items to systems inclusive of communicating with brand partners to secure best in class content, performing careful quality analysis, importing data and digital assets, auditing for webpage content and completeness, etc.
- Synthesize large quantities of complex data into usable/actionable information.
- May participate in system implementation projects (requirements documentation, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution).
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Finance or similar.
- 0-3 years of experience in a business systems or merchandising analytics capacity as a subject-matter expert.
- 1-3+ years in a computer-driven corporate environment.
- Background in creating, managing to and improving metrics (KPI) using quantitative analysis.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft suite products, especially Excel.
- General experience using SQL queries and/or Tableau reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills to convey key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms and an ability to effectively communicate with technical teams.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a driving passion to change, challenge, and improve processes.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Relevant work experience using Python or R for data analytics.
- Prior experience in Software Quality Processes and Atlassian Tools such as (Confluence, JIRA, etc.).
- Prior experience with ERP systems.
- Proficient in SQL and/or Tableau.
- E-commerce background
