Salary:
Starting at $45,000.00
About the Position:
Provides assessment, resource linkage and referral to eligible youth who are at risk for initial or more intensive juvenile justice involvement. Under supervision, Apply clinical theory and technical skills in their work with individual youth and families.
A Typical Day as a Mental Health Juvenile Justice Coordinator:
- Manage MHJJ referral processes, including responding to referral sources, outreach, and engagement to all referrals.
- Provides timely strengths-focused, systemic, client-centered, trauma-informed individual and family-systems assessment and service planning for youth who are at risk of contact or more intensive involvement with the justice system and their families. Involves clients and family to the extent possible and clinically indicated in all treatment decisions.
- Provides case management and supportive services to ensure linkage, referral and engagement in any services determined to be needed through the assessment process.
- Document services as required by legal statute, funder requirements, and agency policies.
Work Hours:
Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based on the availability of clients.
Does the Following Apply to You?
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology, or closely related Human Service field.
- 2 years of experience in a human service position (preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Obtain an insured vehicle
- At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
