Position Overview:
The DME Delivery Technician is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery, setup, and instruction on the use of durable medical equipment (DME) to patients' homes or healthcare facilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patients receive the equipment they need and are properly educated on its use, while maintaining the high standards of Castor Medical Supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Delivery: Safely transport and deliver durable medical equipment to patients' homes, healthcare facilities, and other locations as needed.
- Setup and Installation: Install, set up, and ensure the proper functioning of DME such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids or medical devices.
- Patient Instruction: Provide patients and caregivers with clear and thorough instructions on how to use and maintain the equipment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment prior to delivery and troubleshoot any malfunctions in the field.
- Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate delivery and service records, including patient signatures, equipment condition, and setup information.
- Compliance: Ensure all equipment is delivered in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Respond to patient inquiries or issues promptly and professionally, offering solutions or escalating concerns when necessary.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, ensuring the correct tracking of equipment both in the warehouse and on delivery.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety protocols for handling medical devices and ensure proper sanitation of equipment before and after delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Prior experience in DME delivery, logistics, or healthcare-related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of DME and its safe operation is an advantage but training will be provided.
