The Opportunity: | The Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Services (MDCAPOS) has overall responsibility, authority, and accountability for administration and operations of pediatric behavioral health ambulatory services delivered by Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within a joint clinic location (shared with Psychology). They are accountable for managing the clinical quality of OP pediatric behavioral health services, and participating in strategic planning. This includes: planning, scheduling, and development of pediatric clinical programming; identifying specialty service trends and opportunities; developing & implementing ambulatory standards; resolution of patient complaints/clinical service recovery; working with departmental leadership to develop clinic standards. The MDCAPOS co-supervises the Practice Manager for Child Psychiatry and Psychology and has close leadership collaboration with the Psychology Clinic Director in the Division of Psychology and the Manager of Health Care Administration of the Department of Psychiatry, as well as faculty members who both practice and supervise within the clinic. They also collaborate with the Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Fellowship and the General Psychiatry Program Director around trainee rotation assignments and performance issues. Provision of patient care services through clinical teaching and direct patient care is also a core part of the role. Experience in working with student learners, residents, and child fellows is required. Scholarly collaboration within and across clinical departments is strongly encouraged and interest and participation in interdisciplinary research is welcomed. In addition, faculty in the Department of Psychiatry are engaged in clinical and scholarly collaborations throughout UF and nationally that afford rich opportunities for career development. The Department of Psychiatry offers extensive opportunities for clinical research/ scholarly collaborations. The successful candidate reports to the Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Department of Psychiatry. |

Minimum Requirements: | Applicants must have a M.D. or D.O. degree, be licensed in or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Florida, have completed residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, and be board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. Experience in working with student learners and residents is required. |
