The Medical Billing Specialist is an organized professional who is responsible for a variety of tasks including initiating payment processes, transferring patient and insurance information and appealing denied claims. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in billing software, medical insurance regulations, and proficient at responding to insurance inquiries. Hospice experience is preferred.
This is a remote position working Mon-Fri 8a-5p Eastern Standard Time Zone.

- Execution of high-volume monthly client billing for Hospice provider (Commercial).
- Responsible for Payor follow-up and denial management.
- Responsible for working with multiple branch offices to ensure timeliness and accuracy of content is received and available for billing.
- Prepare, Bill, and Correct Per Diem billing for multi-state agency to include all payers.
- Recreate submission files for rejected claims.
- Create Adjustment Claims when appropriate.
- Monitor status of aging invoices and provide monthly explanation.
- Assist with monthly reporting.
- A minimum of 2 years commercial billing experience strongly preferred. Multi-state and/or location experience preferred.
- Hospice billing experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance a plus.
- Experience working with Waystar and Availity.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
