The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to patients and staff in the Buprenorphine, Naltrexone and Methadone programs.

Duties & Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant is responsible for screening and consenting potential clients for MAT programs.
- Assist in the maintenance of patient flow including weight, height, vital signs, and patient preparation as needed.
- Schedule patients and participate in tracking of patients for follow up.
- Assist with admission of new clients, including supervised urine drug screens, urine pregnancy tests and interpreting tests including breath alcohol testing.
- Completing assessment paperwork and other required program paperwork.
- The Medical Assistant schedules random urines, pill counts, EKGs, and vital signs for clients under the direction of RN Case Mangers.
- Order urine drug screening tests.
- Participate in monthly MAT meetings.
- Complete prior authorizations for MAT medications. Utilize the MAT preferred program.
- Input office procedures, billing charges and other pertinent clinical information into EHR.
- Triage incoming phone calls. Assist with cancelling and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Submit application for PT-1 form via mass.gov website.
- The Medical Assistant assists with completion of all MAT related paperwork.
- Maintain adequate stocking of supplies.
- Disposes of biohazard waste daily.
- Ability to work some evening hours.
- Other duties as required.

Required Experience:
Education & Experience
- Certified medical assistant in Massachusetts.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills, MS Word, Excel, and ability to use electronic medical records.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn new protocols and follow directions.
- Ability to perform CLIA waiver testing.
- Bilingual preferred.
- CPR Certified.
