Our Award Winning Client, a leader in providing healthcare services to seniors, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team in San Jose, California. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with medical providers to deliver high-quality care in a compassionate environment.
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting the clinical team in providing safe and efficient medical services to participants at the WelbeHealth clinic. The role includes both administrative and clinical tasks such as preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the clinic is well-stocked and sanitized.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare participants for appointments, including setting up exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Measure and document participants' vital signs prior to their exams.
- Assist with general medical procedures under physician supervision, including dressing changes and suture removal.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens as required, following safety and sterilization procedures.
- Maintain accurate clinic logs and ensure exam rooms are properly sanitized and stocked for each encounter.
- Provide excellent customer service to participants by greeting them, managing appointment schedules, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Program accredited by the CAAHEP (Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Programs).
- 2-year Associates degree program in Medical Assistance.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from approved agencies such as AAMA, CCMA, or AMT.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting, ideally working with frail or elderly populations.
- Blood Draw experience is required.
- Reliable transportation.
