Position Overview
The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the new Primary Care Practice. Acting as the primary link between patients and the practice, the Medical Assistant provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support, facilitates communication, and coordinates various office and clinical tasks. This is a 3-month contract role.

Responsibilities Of The Medical Assistant
- Efficiently coordinate schedules for professional staff, manage appointment bookings, and ensure optimal use of time.
- Register patients, verify insurance coverage and referrals, and professionally handle incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate staff.
- Accurately prepare patient medical records in accordance with office protocols, including lab results, allergy information, and other relevant correspondence.
- Assist patients in preparation for examinations, providing support to elderly residents with gowning and seating as needed.
- Administer CLIA-waived tests under the direction of the physician, including phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, glucometer tests, and spirometry.
- Maintain a clean, organized treatment room and ensure clinical equipment is in good working condition.
- Manage inventory and place orders for supplies as necessary.
- Record and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, respiration, vision screening, and temperature to support patient care.
- Prepare and administer vaccinations according to medical protocols and patient needs.
- Extensive background in Medical Assisting, demonstrating proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and healthcare teams.
- Proficient in computer systems and word processing applications, ensuring efficient office operations.
- Skilled in document formatting and proofreading, with a keen eye for detail and strong written communication abilities.
- Vocational/technical training with medical terminology knowledge is required.
- 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience is required.
