Medical Administrative Assistant / Clinical Intake Assistant
The PALM Health Medical Administrative Assistant / Clinical Intake Assistant is responsible for supporting the Medical Practice. This position is responsible for all scheduling needs of the medical clinic and wellness services as required. In addition, the Medical Administrative Assistant / Clinical Intake Assistant will work to ensure the timely and thorough intake of all PALM medical patients. The candidate is responsible for monitoring medical providers’ schedules, obtaining patient vital signs, recording any medication or supplementation changes, being responsible for administering standard injections (e.g. vaccines and B12), completing quality control checks for the practice, keeping PALM physicians up to date on reason(s) for patient visit, overseeing internal and external medical record requests, urgent or non-urgent prior authorizations as well as mastering the operations for EMR and Membership software systems (Athena, Phressia, and Mind Body). Excellent phone etiquette is required.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- 1+ year experience in reception or call center experience (required)
- 1+ year experience in a Medical Assistant or intake based role (required)
- 1+ year experience in hospital, hotel, hospitality, or spa (preferred)
- 1+ year experience in clinical practice (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
