Position Title: Mechanical / Process Project Engineer
Job Description:
The Mechanical / Process Project Engineer is the first to be consulted for any construction project related to Mechanical (HVAC & Wet Systems), UPW, water, wastewater, process mechanical, bulk gases, and bulk chemical systems. Early in the lifecycle, they assess feasibility of new projects. They later develop more detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers from other disciplines. During detailed design and construction, our Project Engineers serve as the Owner's representative to provide technical guidance and issue resolutions.
Our Project Engineers are the primary leaders of scope, have strong knowledge of client
specifications and standards, and use our change control process to improve those standards and drive
innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate must be able to develop and implement innovative engineering and design
methodologies to support very aggressive program cost and construction schedules.
You will be working at a technology development site therefore the ability to develop and transfer specifications to other client sites is critical.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop discipline scope and engineering solutions which include schedule, budget and
safety requirements for construction projects. - Interface and coordinate with General contractor / supplier design, construction, scheduling, and estimating teams.
- Interfaces and coordinates with Design, Construction, and internal Client organizations to
enable facility design efforts for area of expertise. - Lead inter-discipline coordination efforts, work groups, and collaborate closely with other disciplines to define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of design life cycle.
- Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.
- Work together with our factory, operations, and supply chain partners to deliver some of the
most technically challenging projects in the world with demanding schedule and cost
constraints. - Ensure that work is being performed is code compliant and meets Client’s policies and expectations.
- Provide input on design reviews, constructability, contractor performance and coordination
with construction resources to manage discipline schedule and budget. - Ensures accuracy of estimating tied to scope of work and linkage to project schedules.

Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Process or Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience with Mechanical (HVAC & Wet Systems). Process gas, Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Industrial wastewater systems, bulk chemical, or process mechanical systems for semiconductor or similar industrial facilities.
- In depth knowledge with P/ID's, Pipeflo, and BIM.
- Experience with building and fire codes and hazardous occupancies, including California specific requirements.
- Ability to be onsite in the office environment (Santa Clara, CA) 4-5 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Focus on industrial, semiconductor, and cleanroom projects.
- Basic knowledge of control methods for process systems.
- Experience with construction, start-up, and commissioning/turnover of facilities systems.
- Experience with building and fire codes and hazardous occupancies, including Cal specific.
