Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Review plans, specifications, and technical documents, including CAD drawings, sketches, and submittals, to develop accurate project estimates.
Perform detailed take-offs for HVAC systems, including piping, sheet metal, chilled water systems, boiler plants, rooftop equipment, and other mechanical components.
Prepare cost estimates for design-build, design-assist, and plan/spec construction projects.
Attend pre-bid meetings and evaluate project opportunities to determine scope and bid strategy.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and vendor quotes for completeness and compliance.
Collaborate with project management teams to integrate best practices and feedback into estimates.
Maintain and build relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Use estimating software to ensure accuracy and efficiency in developing project costs.
Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience in HVAC/mechanical estimating
Familiarity with mechanical systems such as VAV, VRF, chilled water, steam, and boiler systems.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and estimating software.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities.
