Our company is a growing commercial mechanical services provider in the commercial and industrial HVAC industry with a strong client base in Texas.
OPPORTUNITY
- Produce ASHRAE RTS/CLTD heat loss/gain calculations, equipment selection and specification, and duct system designs for non-residential buildings, and final construction documents in AutoCAD
- The Sales ME/Estimator is responsible for meeting regularly with team members to ensure proper information flow and understanding of projects and/or estimating requirements, and compliance with quality policies and procedures.
- Communicate directly with clients for problems & resolutions, provide expert advice and project specifications that aid client teams.
- Performs jobsite surveys of existing facilities for as-build generation, rehabilitation designs, and for construction support of new facilities
- Collaborate with our HVAC, Electrical Dept, Controls Dept., Plumbing Dept., and subcontractors to create solutions.
- Coordinate and attend meetings for all phases of projects from initial phase to completion to include: utility coordination, internal coordination, and applicable tasks
- Provide estimated hours for new work based on estimated effort required.
- Development of final design documents including specification, sequences of operation the piping layout and final construction documents associated with these systems
- Review vendor and subcontractor submittals making final selections for HVAC equipment
- Create control systems sequence of operations and points lists
- Oversee creation of drawings for installation
- Work with construction managers for constructability reviews and resolution of issues that come up during construction
- Review and approve test reports from construction, such as test and balance reports Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires Bachelor's degree in Science of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent HVAC mechanical engineering experience
- Ability to calculate heat loads (Trane Trace 3D), design hydronic piping systems/design duct systems HVAC Solution Pro), calculate refrigerant pipe sizes, design VRF systems, create mechanical drawings (AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Visio), and create analytical reports for projects.
- This position requires excellent math skills and accuracy for estimating calculations take-offs and scale computations and figuring discounts on equipment pricing.
- Field experience - gathering information, evaluating existing equipment, and troubleshooting systems
- HVAC and Title 24 software and manual engineering calculations
- Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection codes and standards
- Valid Texas Driver's License's
- All items listed should be taken to mean that the individual already has these skills or has the ability to rapidly acquire them.
- Computer skills that include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, CAD, Power Point, and other estimating computer software.
