**Position Overview:
**
Siemens Mobility Customer Service is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Sacramento, CA!
In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining documentation systems for engineering procedures, modifications, accident repairs, and upgrades. You'll support customer inquiries and promote Siemens products and solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining change approvals.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll tackle a variety of professional tasks on rail vehicles, including design, development, testing, and modifications of innovative solutions. You'll also prepare explanations and clarify information to enable accurate interpretation and evaluation of semi-complex specifications, performance characteristics, and other technical data.

**What your day may look like:

**Innovative Solutions:
**Respond to customer needs and promote product developments by formalizing engineering requirements through the creation of Technical Concepts, supporting specifications, bills of materials, and validation plans.
**Cost Savings Leadership:
** Drive life cycle cost savings by developing alternative engineering solutions, sourcing alternative suppliers, and identifying product improvements across the business.
**Expertise in Incident Repair:
** Provide engineering expertise during the incident repair process to ensure value for money, maintain vehicle integrity, and achieve customer satisfaction. Develop generic repair instructions, processes, and work instructions as needed.
**Industry Monitoring:
** Stay ahead of industry practices by identifying and implementing processes, products, and materials that enhance engineering solutions for maintenance, incident repairs, and development activities.
**Technical Bid Support:
** Contribute to the technical bid process for maintenance and overhaul projects.
**Comprehensive Maintenance Concepts:
** Deliver system-level Maintenance Concepts, Depot Requirements, Special Tools Specifications, recommended Capital Spares, and service requirements to the delivery project.
**Professional Expertise:
** Independently handle complex and less clearly-defined engineering issues, providing high-level professional expertise.
**To thrive in this role, you have:
**
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
- A combination of education and relevant work experience in Siemens or the rail industry will also be considered.
At least 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo, or similar modeling software is essential.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in system design and integration.
Knowledge of SAP.
Expertise in high horsepower diesel engines.
Experience in the rail industry is a plus.
Technical writing experience is also sought out.

The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA $90,300-$106,000. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
