We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components within the energy sector. This will involve working on a variety of projects, including hydraulic systems, pumps, and rotating equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to apply their expertise in mechanical engineering to ensure that all equipment and systems are designed, installed, and maintained to the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and performance. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain mechanical systems and components, focusing on hydraulic systems, pumps, and rotating equipment.
2. Conduct detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulations, and analysis.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective mechanical design solutions.
4. Ensure all mechanical equipment and systems meet safety regulations and performance standards.
5. Conduct failure analysis and root cause analysis on mechanical failures and implement appropriate solutions.
6. Provide technical support to the maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
7. Continually monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend and apply new technologies as they emerge.
8. Prepare technical drawings, specifications of mechanical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
9. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy industry, specifically in mechanical engineering roles.
3. Proven experience with hydraulic systems, pumps, and rotating equipment.
4. Proficiency in 3D CAD software and other engineering design tools.
5. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and fabrication processes.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
9. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus.
