CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II.
Type: Contract
Location: Hickory, NC (Hybrid Remote)
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Hickory, NC
Pay Rate: $25-26.67
Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Education: A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology, A.O.S. in Drafting/CAD, or equivalent technical degree; or
Drafting Certificate/Certification
A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as:
- Mechanical drafting experience 3D modeling
Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join our client’s team in an exciting contract opportunity. As a member of a global drafting department, you will assist in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files for custom-designed process equipment located across various manufacturing locations. This role will involve working with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, adhering to company drafting standards to produce high-quality technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Correct redlined models/drawings issued by drafting leads or engineering/development teams
- Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associated drawings
- Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models created by other team members
- Collect and incorporate data from engineering teams into drawings
- Gather measurements and information from the production floor to update and refine drawings
Work Environment:
- Employment through a third party on a contract basis. Contracts are generally 1 year in length and may be extended based on performance and project needs.
- Hybrid work schedule available (3-4 days per week working remotely)
- M-F, 8am-5pm base schedule, with potential for overtime (45 hours per week target)
Required Education:
- A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology, A.O.S. in Drafting/CAD, or equivalent technical degree; or
- Drafting Certificate/Certification
- Candidates without a degree must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards
- General Windows-based computer skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines
