Job Summary
Job Description
Develop new drive systems in CAD based on inputs from team members. Create 2D/3D models and layouts for production motor requirements using Pro/E Creo or similar modeling applications. Utilize FEA software such as Ansys or similar simulation software to develop FEA models with appropriate meshing for structural or thermal analysis. Communicate proposed designs to functional groups outside Engineering. Participate in First Piece Article inspection process in Engineering to review dimensional inspection reports against engineering specifications, evaluate deviation requests, and assess functional risk. Create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, and finished products. Maintain technical project files. Implement and test design solutions. Create tolerance analyses to evaluate mechatronic designs. Identify and select materials appropriate for mechatronic system designs. Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or the foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering plus two (2) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer occupation. The required experience must include:
- Two (2) years of experience in 3D CAD modeling in supporting new product designs (e.g. Creo, Solidworks);
- Two (2) years of experience in the design of parts for manufacture (e.g., aluminum die castings, stampings, or plastic injection molding);
- Two (2) years of experience working on a cross functional team; and
- One (1) year of experience in structural Finite Element Analysis tools (e.g. ANSYS).
