We’re looking for an engineer who is as passionate about creating aesthetically pleasing, high-performance designs as they are about solving complex mechanical challenges. Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for the Oceanscout Glider and other marine robotics products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, and systems engineers) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall product.
- Perform detailed mechanical design analysis, including stress, strain, fatigue, cyclic, pressure, and other testing.
- Conduct material selection, prototyping, and testing to ensure product durability in challenging underwater environments.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., Onshape) to create 3D models and technical drawings.
- Support the assembly and testing of prototypes, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and recommend improvements.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve product performance.
What You Bring
- You are a visionary designer with a passion for creating not just functional, but beautiful mechanical systems. You understand that great design is not just about solving problems, but elevating the entire user experience
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical design, ideally in marine or aerospace.
- Strong proficiency in CAD and simulation tools (Onshape, CFD). You can take a concept from sketch to production drawings with precision.

- Familiarity with materials selection, mechanical testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of underwater systems, fluid dynamics, and environmental challenges is a major plus.

- Due to the required handling of export controlled technology and information, only United States citizens and permanent residents will be considered.
