ABOUT THE JOB:
The job of the Mechanical Assembly Technician is to support Soaring’s organization with the assembly and verification of state-of-the-art electro-mechanical components & assemblies. This role works out of the office and factory, will be exposed to high noises and requires a high safety focus while working out of the factory. This role works regular business hours, Monday through Friday and may also be required to work additional hours based on company need.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electro-mechanical subassemblies.
Perform hand soldering of through hole, SMT, or flex PCB in accordance with J-STD.
- Perform wire harness fabrication in accordance with J-STD principles using cutting, stripping, splicing, tinning, crimping, hipot testing, insertion, and extraction tools.
- Perform electronics testing and troubleshoot, prototype circuit board development and fabrication.
- Capacity to measure parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the builds and effectively communicate to cross functional teams to alleviate potential discrepancies.
- Support and assist engineers in the performance of technical assignments, routine engineering tasks, build and test or inspection of prototype systems, assemblies or PWBs under the guidance of engineers.
- Maintain databases and spreadsheets with assembly, maintenance, and delivery records.
- Create and maintain build & test instruction for repetitive assembly and verification efforts.
In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, all employees are required to regularly complete documentation of their work in company systems to retain institutional knowledge. This must be completed in the manner designated by the company. In addition, all employees must complete any safety or compliance training as assigned by the due date.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program or equivalent experience.
- Prior Experience: 4+ years of aerospace, automotive, medical, or other related industry experience.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer literacy; fluency with excel, project management tools, collaboration tools, and databases; specifically ERP systems such as Odoo.
- Technical Skills:
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Electrical best practices IPC 610/620, J-STD, and ESD. In addition, AS9100/ISO 9001 or equivalent. Experience working with electronic lab equipment including power supplies, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, various analyzers and signal generators. The ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with Y14.5 principles.
