About the Job
Description/Comment:
Work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility to assistinstall, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, andpipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments byperforming the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure thatmachines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, andthe physical condition of the building does not deteriorate:
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment todetect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors orother maintenance technicians to diagnose the problem or repair the machine
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replacefilters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and otherparts of machinery Troubleshoot and repair various aspects of productionmachinery, including saws, hydraulic presses and associated forging equipment:
Repair and replace mechanical components and assemblies,including install of forging dies and fixtures, bearing assemblies, chains,belts and sliding component wear plates
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical issues, fromcontrol power (transforms, power supplies, contactors, relays, motor startersand overloads) to 480V distribution and motors
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic issuesincluding loss of system pressures, cylinder actuation, pump or valve leaks ormalfunctions; replace hydraulics pumps, motors, cylinders valves and otherassociated components
Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings,blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
Align and balance new equipment after installations
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, suchas hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuringinstruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut orjoin metal parts
Operate overhead cranes and hoists, forklifts, scissorand boom lifts
Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow allCompany policies, safety, and procedures
Record maintenance and repair work performed
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required
3-5 years of experience
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and applyconcepts of basic algebra and geometry
Must be able to carry out instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concretevariables in standardized situations.
Must be certified to operate a forklift and man lift toall approved OSHA and Arconic standards.
