Hourly Rate: $54.00 - $57.50
POSITION SUMMARY
Are you a top-tier mechanic with extensive experience in servicing and repairing heavy-duty buses and coaches? At MCI, we are seeking a Mechanic I to join our Service Center team. This role is perfect for seasoned professionals who excel in diagnosing and repairing complex systems, including diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines. As a Mechanic I, you will be the go-to expert for advanced repairs, complex HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting, ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance and reliability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Engine Diagnosis and Repair: Expertly diagnose and repair a range of engine types, including diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines. Handle complex repairs and overhauls to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Advanced HVAC Systems: Take charge of servicing and repairing intricate HVAC systems, a critical component in ensuring passenger comfort and system efficiency.
- Electrical Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and repairs for electric buses, including battery cells, drivetrains, and high-voltage systems. Utilize sophisticated diagnostic tools to resolve complex electrical issues.
- Complex System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of advanced driveline components and other essential systems, ensuring all systems meet rigorous safety and performance standards.
- Fleet Vehicle Finalization: Lead the final inspection and certification process for fleet vehicles, verifying that all repairs and systems function correctly before vehicles are put back into service.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics, including Mechanic III and Mechanic II team members. Share your knowledge and experience to help develop their skills and ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Innovation and Technology: Stay current with industry advancements and integrate new technologies into your work, including those related to electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Help set the standard for cutting-edge bus and coach maintenance.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Extensive Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair, with significant experience in buses and coaches. Advanced knowledge of diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines.
- Advanced Diagnostic and Repair Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and driveline components. Experience with sophisticated diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Attention to Detail and Precision: High level of accuracy in inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Ability to handle complex systems and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Safety and Collaboration: Strong understanding of safety practices, including handling high-voltage systems. Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
