Responsibilities:Position Summary:
The Maternal Fetal Transport coordinator is the primary liaison for UCI Health’s Maternal Fetal Transport program. The coordinator is responsible for refining transport workflow, acting as team lead for on call response, reviewing each transport for PI and tracking quality metrics. Coordinator is a clinical expert on providing high-quality patient care, is a role model who demonstrates expert professional nursing practice, customer service, and leadership ability. Collaborates and builds relationships with community partners to promote W&C programs including high risk obstetrical and neonatal outreach. Engages with leadership and nursing education to advance nursing knowledge, skill, and competency related to maternal fetal and neonatal transport. Maintains a positive, collegial relationship with the Nursing and Medical Directors for Women’s & Children’s, NICU team members, business development and marketing, CNS’s, Educators, and Nurse Managers at the Medical Center. Acts as an active participant on nursing and medical center committees. In addition to Maternal Fetal Transport responsibilities, coordinator interacts with outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine & OB/GYN providers to facilitate the inpatient care of patients with fetal concerns, assists with care planning related to fetal treatments, terminations, and other procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting
- Thorough knowledge TJC Disease-Specific (Neonatal/ Perinatal), Baby Friendly, Beacon designations and other regulatory requirements
- Strong written, oral communication, as well as effective problem solving and negotiation skills
- Specialty certification in Perinatal Services
- Minimum of three years recent acute care perinatal nursing experience in a High-Risk Perinatal Center with Maternal Fetal transport experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare project leadership.
- Computer skill and experience using MSOffice products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and information systems in general, with the ability to manage and produce charts, tables, and graphs
- Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment in all situation
- Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire
- Basic Fetal Monitoring Course Completion (Class certificate)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent Experience with Program Development
- Recent Experience in Program Management
- Familiarity with all phases of Performance Improvement
- Certification in Health Care Quality Improvement
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN (BSN)
- PQFFMC
- NRP
- BLS
- ACLS
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
- Perinatal Certification eg. OB-EFM, Inpatient OB
