The Material Handler Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Material Handlers within the Internal Logistics department. This role involves coordinating team activities, ensuring efficient material flow, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead a team of Material Handlers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring effective communication.
- Monitor team performance, identify training needs, and implement development plans.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Material Movement:
- Oversee the efficient movement of materials between workstations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate the pulling, staging, and delivery of materials to production lines.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage rework and scrap materials.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all team members adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and provide training on safety practices.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of safety.
- Productivity and Efficiency:
- Develop and implement actions to improve team productivity and efficiency.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the material flow process.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- High school diploma or GED strongly preferred, but not required.
- Forklift certification required.
- Knowledge of scanners and Rittal product is beneficial.
- General computer knowledge is also beneficial.
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, with at least [Number] years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
