Material Handler
Location: Stoughton, WI (area)
Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 Hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials, equipment, and supplies within the warehouse. This role involves operating forklifts to move materials, completing inventory transactions using Epicor software, and maintaining accurate stock records. The Material Handler will ensure that products are stored and delivered efficiently to meet production needs while following safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records by tracking and updating inventory transactions in Epicor manufacturing software.
- Receiving & Storing Materials: Receive and store materials in designated areas such as bins, shelves, or floors based on identification criteria (e.g., style, size, material type).
- Order Fulfillment: Retrieve items from stock using pull tickets, pick lists, or other forms to fill orders and deliver materials to the appropriate locations.
- Material Distribution: Distribute stock to production workers and keep records of materials issued.
- Storage & Organization: Determine optimal storage methods and locations for materials, taking into account factors like temperature, humidity, weight limits, and available space.
- Transportation & Movement: Move or transport materials and supplies between departments as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate liquefied gas or electric-powered forklifts to push, pull, lift, and stack materials or products.
- Maintenance: Recharge forklift batteries, refill fuel tanks, or replace liquefied gas tanks.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Consult with the supervisor on issues such as equipment use, inventory adjustments, stock damage or spoilage, and changes to stock locations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations and ensure efficiency.
