By embracing diversity, investing in our community, and promoting the essential connection between play and learning, we aim to enrich lives, spark imaginations, and build a brighter, united future for everyone we serve.Position Summary The Marketing Coordinator is key to fulfilling MoChiMu's mission and vision by spearheading the museum's marketing and design efforts. They use their creativity and organizational expertise to execute marketing initiatives in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and other team members. This role is instrumental in building brand awareness, cultivating community partnerships, and advancing the museum's goals through innovative strategies and compelling storytelling.Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Assist in the strategy of and execute social media, email, brand, and paid ad campaigns, as well as in-person marketing events, ensuring alignment with MoChiMu's brand and mission per all regulations and policies. .Collaborate with the CEO and other departments to develop and implement annual, quarterly and project based marketing plans, using timelines and cohesive messaging to achieve cross-functional objectives.Manage the collaborative project team called the Social Media Content Team to maximize the team's resources.Support the CEO in building community partnerships to enhance the museum's reach and impact.Maintain a high communication level within the organization and across departments.Build and maintain positive relationships with local media outlets to increase museum visibility and coverage while writing clear and compelling press releases. Assist in creation and implementation in targeted marketing campaigns to increase museum attendance, membership, and revenue.Create and distribute marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and other print and digital materials.Manage the museum's social media content, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging.Assist in the planning and executing of special events for strategic initiatives related to marketing efforts.Track tactic performance against marketing plans for paid marketing, social media marketing, and advertising.Ensure MoChiMu meets its desired diversity and inclusion outcomes in our marketing initiatives and partnerships. Maintain a high level of knowledge about museum exhibits, programs, and events to answer guest questions and provide recommendations.Be a positive MoChiMu representative and ensure the organization and its mission are consistently presented in strong, positive ways to the internal team, relevant stakeholders, and the public. Maintain a willingness to support MoChiMu and the team in other collaborative projects, museum needs, and roles outside the assigned job description. Support the management of the day-to-day operations of Modesto Children's Museum, including safety, sales, member services, and opening & closing procedures.Ensure MoChiMu is clean and safe for all guests, including monitoring the facility for potential hazards and coordinating with maintenance contacts to address any issues.Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience.Support the training of staff in areas related to your work.Monitor guest feedback and respond to complaints in a timely and effective manner.Contribute to MoChiMu's mission by having a strong understanding of educational best practices and by engaging with guests on the museum floor.Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at MoChiMu. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time, and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure, or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided. Comply with all the MoChiMu policies and procedures, including but not limited to workplace safety, reporting work-related injuries, Infection Control, and preventing potential safety risks for staff, patrons, and others.Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.Education and Experience:Education - A highschool diploma or equivalent is required, an associates or bachelors degree is preferred. Experience:Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.Strong skills in social media, email marketing, content creation, and campaign management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of branding principles and design best practices.Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with community partners.Passion for MoChiMu's mission and an enthusiasm for engaging with families and the community.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bilingualism in Spanish and English is highly preferred.Excellent written communication skillsExperience in marketing with a successful track record of supporting major, multifaceted campaigns and superb communication, writing and public relations skills.Understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc. Creative, forward-thinking, community focused individual.Ability to handle conflicts and challenges professionally and constructively.Ability to analyze processes and data and identify necessary improvements within marketing strategy.Requires a high level of accuracy and attention.Passion for the organization's mission and values.Well-spoken and polished demeanor.Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse people groups.Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail/Sheets/Docs/Drive) and social media platforms.Work Activities, Styles, and Requirements:Leadership: Be a dynamic team leader with a deep understanding of MoChiMu's mission and a commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging environment for visitors.
