About the Job
The MAST Project Manager role will support steering one of our corporations most impactful and strategic initiatives within maritime operations. The MAST (Maritime Asset Strategy Transformation) program will be developed and deployed throughout all brands within the Carnival Corporation.
Reporting into the Senior Director of Maritime Asset Strategy, the primary mandate of this role will be to manage the project plans related to data alignment, ship database build, migration, data validation and hyper care. This includes working with external program partners and vendors to receive input on project tasks and timeline impacting the project plans. As the program progresses, continued project planning will be required to support the development backlog required to successfully deploy and maintain MAST fleetwide.
Furthermore, this role will be expected to provide guidance and support to other areas of the organization including brand leadership. This includes providing timely information and effectively communicate current schedules via organizing meetings and other means of communication. This role will support and facilitate the planning and execution of change activities, with a focus on continuous improvement to enhance future outcomes.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate across functional teams to achieve project goals in a timely and effective manner
- Make use of time management and project management skills to successfully oversee and manage projects from conception to completion. Includes managing resources, timelines and budgets
- Develop visual display plans (Poap) that provide a birds-eye view of major workstreams, associated
- Manage and monitor tasks in the Project Plan using MS Projects or equivalent to track progress and identify dependencies with other projects and initiatives
- Manage the team’s tasks and schedules to support data alignment, development, testing, ship deployment production go-live phases, data validations and required re-work provided by internal developers and 3rd party vendors
- Communicate and present project status to program stakeholders and brand representatives on a regular basis
- Identify and drive improvements in processes and feed these back to the Senior Director for alignment and implementation.
- Work alongside Subject Matter Experts, Project Leads, Brand representatives, external partners and vendors to gather business requirements, document decisions, identify impacts to the project plans and update accordingly for execution
- Manage and provide coaching to internal and external team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience program/project management experience
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), MS Projects, Smartsheets, MS Visio, Jira, Devops
- experience working with large datasets and data analysis
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Project management – Proven ability to manage large, complex, global projects through the use of project management tools, including: developing a business case, project planning, identifying/ resolving/ escalating issues, driving progress against objectives, etc. • Process improvement – Proven ability to identify, document and improve existing processes to meet the needs of the organization • Maritime Operations – A working understanding of complex, international operations • Change management – Proven ability to drive change, build consensus, and resolve conflicts despite internal and external challenges • Relationship building – Proven success in building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, with an ability to influence without authority • Communication – Excellent communication skills (both informal and formal - facilitation and presentation), solid executive presence • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit • Strong interest in Travel and Tourism
Licenses & Certifications:
- PMP certification a plus
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift. Position requires supporting multiple brands within Carnival Corporation in different time zones and locations. In some cases, there may be a need to support ship deployments during off-hours/weekends.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
