About the Job
Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Marine Mechanical Engineer with proven propulsion experience to provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, to include, but not limited to: power supply and propulsion systems. Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements. Develop system documentation and ship specifications

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control
systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on
the configuration of propulsion and associated components.
Required Experience:
- Conduct analyses propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
- Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design and regulations.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs preferred.
- Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs preferred.
Required Education:
BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine Degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field
of work.
Security:
- Must hold a Secret Clearance or higher.
- Must pass a background check.
Place of Performance:
- This work shall be performed "Onsite" 4 days per/week in Baltimore, Maryland and 1 day remotely.
- Baltimore, Maryland: Reliably commute to or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday ("Onsite" 4 days per/week in Baltimore, Maryland and 1 day remotely).
