In our dedication to nurturing talent, we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated Geologist to become a valuable part of our dynamic team. As a Geologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the collection and interpretation of geological and geotechnical data in marine environments. This role presents an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical investigations, soil and sediment analysis, and the application of geotechnical principles in coastal engineering projects. Guided by senior team members, you will contribute to geotechnical surveys, data analysis, and the preparation of reports.
Responsibilities:
Aid in the implementation of geotechnical investigations in marine environments, encompassing field surveys and seabed sampling.
Assist in the gathering of geotechnical data, including the collection of soil and sediment samples, and contribute to laboratory testing and analysis.
Engage in the interpretation of geological and geotechnical data to evaluate seabed composition, sediment characteristics, and geological hazards.
Conduct routine inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs of equipment, with a focus on fine-tuning systems for optimal performance.
Collaborate with senior team members to incorporate geotechnical findings into other relevant data sets.
Play a role in planning and executing geotechnical surveys, including contributing to the design of sampling methodologies and survey strategies.
Assist in the preparation of comprehensive geotechnical reports and presentations, summarizing key findings and recommendations.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Geophysicis or a related field.
Demonstrated 1-3 years of pertinent experience.
Familiarity with geotechnical principles, encompassing soil mechanics, sedimentology, and geological hazards.
Additional knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS is a positive attribute.
Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate technical information clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage effectively with colleagues.
Eagerness to acquire and enhance skills in geotechnical research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
Dedication to adhering to safety protocols and ethical research practices in marine geotechnical investigations.
