We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Plant Controller to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and cost control activities within our manufacturing plant. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our manufacturing operations, providing vital information that will aid in strategic decision-making processes. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, standard costing, product costing, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ERP systems and WMS, with an ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations within the manufacturing plant, including accounting, inventory control, cost accounting, and budget management.
- Develop and maintain standard costing models to accurately capture manufacturing costs.
- Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring they comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with plant management to develop financial forecasts and budgets, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Regularly review and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee physical inventory counts and manage the reconciliation process.
- Utilize ERP systems to automate and improve financial processes and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or a similar role.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, including standard costing and product costing.
- Proven experience in managing BOM and inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and WMS.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, as well as reporting requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
