General Summary:
Plans and coordinates manufacturing activities through supervision in assigned area (e.g., assembly, filter, injection molding, powertrain, urethane, welding, stamping, etc.) and provides leadership and motivation to direct reports that focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction that exceed the customer's expectations
Collaborates with other support groups and coordinates manufacturing activities with other departments
Responsible for ensuring all area hoshin goals and objectives including key performance indicator (KPI) targets are met.

Essential Job Functions:
A
Lead and manage all manufacturing activities and related functions for assigned area(s) to meet customer and company requirements.

Lead manufacturing supervision in utilizing Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques to standardize processes/methods and to identify manufacturing problems and eliminate waste.

Develop and monitor a manufacturing continuous improvement system.

Review launch products and provide direction for successful launch

Plan and organize layouts for line changes due to volume changes or manpower reductions.

Maintain contact with interdepartmental managers to provide feedback when dealing with process or material changes.

Hold daily staff meetings to communicate daily objectives and discuss successes, failures, and countermeasure activity.

Understand and execute all plant policies and procedures.

Structure and implement area policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the company and its team members.

Ensure alignment of area policies and procedures with plant and corporate policies and procedures.

Manage area practices and procedures in compliance with company and industry standards (e.g., TS16949 and ISO14001).

Lead development and management of annual plan, budget, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), operating efficiency, and cost control.

Develop annual plan(Hoshin) and budget for area aligned with plant, regional, and corporate goals as the foundation to keep the plant moving in a safe, quality conscious, and efficient upward trend.

Administer annual plan that incorporates safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and team member morale.

Ensure manufacturing area hoshin goals are met and kept on track.

Develop, plan, and maintain the budget for assigned area(s) including making adjustments to achieve targets.

Review and track posted daily, weekly, and monthly goals (including KPI targets and results), spot potential problems, and lead in formulating and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures and solutions.

Review and plan headcount monthly for labor cost control and PEFF (production efficiency).

Oversee the monthly reporting documents that are finalized for the assigned manufacturing area(s), ensuring accuracy and completion
Report out monthly reports with targets.

Lead management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem solving activities, and present operational performance daily/weekly.

Develop and maintain positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.

Provide direction and motivation to group leaders and supervisors focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, safety and health, and morale.

Ensure further development of group leaders and supervisors through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant manufacturing experience required, preferably automotive.
- Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in a professional environment required.
Personal/Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of automotive industry equipment and production systems.
- General understanding and practical work experience with manufacturing systems and processes.
- General understanding and practical work experience with automotive quality systems and processes.
- Practical experience applying Toyota Production System (TPS) principles in an automotive environment.
- Thorough understanding of company product, trade terminology, quality management and control systems and techniques, manufacturing processes including material controls, work flow, scheduling, kanban, and equipment and machine operation
- Versed in statistical data entry and utilization of trend analysis.
- Advanced math skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability.
- Excellent problem solving and people skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving and resolution.
- Ability work with a dynamic team and demanding customer(s).
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.

- Must be able to work a fixed or rotating shift schedule, including daily or weekend overtime.
- Ability to adapt available skills and equipment to respond to unforeseen demands and/or problems
- Ability to implement plans to control and maintain safety, quality, 5S, cost, and efficiency for assigned areas.
- Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Ability to teach assistant managers, group leaders, team leaders, and team members in basic fundamental skills and facilitate Job Instruction Training (JIT).
- Must have the ability to monitor and adjust operating plans and budgets as needed to achieve operational goals, cost reduction objectives, and/or profitability targets.
Language Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Computer/Software:
- Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.)

Work Environment/Conditions:
Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc
may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas
Personal attire standards may apply.
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 10-20% of the time.

The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds
