Our client is a local manufacturing company located in the greater Fort Lauderdale Area in Florida. They are growing and looking to add an Engineering Supervisor for a hands on role to lead a team of CNC Programmers. Excellent long term stability and career growth potential.
The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible to provide guidance, training and leadership to a team of CNC Programmers. e to provide leadership and knowledge skills to a programming staff of 5-10 skilled CNC Programmers. The Engineering Supervisor will monitor day-to-day Programming needs and manage workload deadlines.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing a team of 5-10 CNC Programmers, including recruiting, guiding, and performance related counselling.
- Give direction on daily activities to all employees for a time effective and productive result to ensure on-time completion of work.
- Monitor and resolve issues to ensure quality of work performed
- Prepare work instructions standard operating procedures
- Conduct on-the-job training, prepare written training instructions as needed
- Monitor and measure employee performance
- Read and review designs to ensure customer specifications are met
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to develop production efficiency and minimize material scrap
Requirements:
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment in a machining shop environment
- Minimum 5 years in component drawing for manufacturability.
- Ability to communicate required engineering attributes and technical changes to external customers and internal manufacturing staff.
- High School diploma with technical training in CNC Programming Preferred: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering related field
- Minimum of five (5) years as Programmer in sheet metal fabrication and/or machining operations
- Minimum of five (5) years working with Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Good general computer knowledge in Microsoft Applications
- Good interpersonal sills, clear and concise communication both verbal and written a must
- Good math knowledge, GD&T essential
