The Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op will design custom fixturing and tooling and implement improvements to manufacturing processes. This position gives Co-Ops the opportunity to take design projects from concept to fully implemented solution, along with gaining experience in manufacturing processes and analysis.
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op offers a set onsite schedule of 40 hours per week.
Start Date: 5/19/25 or 5/27/25
End Date: early January 2026
What you will do:
- Design fixturing to support welding, machining, testing, and assembly operations.
- Generate drawings and bills of materials, purchase components, and assemble and test designed fixtures.
- Fabricate custom parts to support operations using equipment such as a drill press or shear.
- Investigate and purchase tools and equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing areas for process improvements such as part design changes, fixturing needs, layout changes, and work instruction updates.
- Support prototype builds for new product development.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA (must be on resume)
- Major studies in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering
- 3D solid modeling experience, PTC Creo preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with machining and metal fabrication processes preferred.
