Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Morgan Truck Body

Location: Morgantown, Pennsylvania

How You Will Make an Impact? In this internship program, you will gain Manufacturing Engineering experience and be exposed to the dynamics of a highly successful manufacturing business. Housing is not provided for this internship - local candidates are preferred. This internship could lead to a full time position on our team! The Nuts and Bolts
•Developing 2D plant layouts for new equipment and Lean activities
•Assist in the design of tooling and fixtures using 3D and 2D CAD programs
•Create and improve work instructions
•Support special projects with "hands on" activities
•Create and manage timelines for small to medium size projects
•Solve intermediate problems and design challenges independently
•Work with vendors to gather bids for projects
•Develop RFQs for new equipment procurement
•Research and gather information for CAPEX justification
•Assist with implementation of Lean/Continuous Improvement projects in plants

Required Credentials
•Entering Junior or Senior year for an Associates / Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field by summer 2024 is preferred.•Must possess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of common manufacturing processes•Basic fabrication, welding, and machining knowledge desirable

•Ability to work collaboratively with team members from the shop floor to executive leadership

•Proficient with CAD software (2 & 3D) - SolidWorks and draftsight preferred but not required

•Proficient basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)•Desire to learn truck body design elements, the Morgan manufacturing process, and truck body tools/systems.

•Strong time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal direction

You Must Be Able to
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. At times, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand (sometimes for extended periods); walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift (using proper lifting techniques) up to 35 lb.
