Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. Manufacturing Depot Operations provides Return and Repair (R&R) capability to our customers and warfighters to ensure critical fielded hardware is repaired and returned to the field in a timely manner. You would apply your skills to evaluate and determine the most efficient and expedient repair process for units being returned from the field, providing manufacturing engineering support that can reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.
This is a 2nd shift position which includes an 8% pay differential

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. What You Will Do
- Reviewing incoming field-returned units for as-received condition, failure information, configuration, and other specific program directed instructions
- Generating process routings for field-returned units to ensure all assembly, inspection, test, and other program requirements are met
- Reviewing existing Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) and Technical Data Package (TDP) for component and subassembly information to assist in materials ordering to support repairs
- Creating and Updating manufacturing process documentation and repair instructions which may include general routing, required tools and fixtures, disassembly/troubleshooting information, and other data required for repair of hardware
- Working and interacting across functions such as Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test to ensure rework/repair and retest processes are accurate and executable
- Working together with technicians and operators on the production floor to answer questions and provide real time support ensuring repair procedures are performed per specifications and all requirements are met
- Interacting with Program and Whole Life engineering throughout the repair cycle to understand requirements and make recommendations on repair plan
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree
- 1 year of manufacturing experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
- Experience/proficiency with Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM/SAP)
- Experience/proficiency with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)
- Experience/proficiency with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill/PDM)
- Experience with military and industry standards
- Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) mitigation requirements
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Word, etc...)
- Self-motivated and results oriented individual with an ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
