About the Job
We are currently seeking a Managing Director to lead and manage the Commercial Lending and Business Banking functions of Rosedale Federal. This position is responsible for originating, managing, and servicing a portfolio of commercial real estate (CRE) and Corporate & Industrial (C&I) loans, prospecting and generating new business banking relationships and managing existing relationships, while managing risk and minimizing negative impacts to achieve the highest quality outcome for the Bank.
In this position you will:
- Seek and develop new business banking relationships as well as commercial loan relationships, including CRE and C&I loans. Manages and enhances existing relationships. Represents Rosedale Federal at meetings and functions in the community to build awareness of the Bank's commercial lending and business banking offerings.
- Develops and implements sales strategies to grow the commercial lending portfolio and business banking book of business, including a proactive and effective business development and outreach program.
- Provides financial consultation to current and prospective customers to help reach their goals to maintain a long-term banking relationship. Originates, manages, and services a portfolio of CRE and C&I loans.
- Provides underwriting support on all loans for commercial lending team by analyzing all necessary financial statement data, leases, and appraisals, as well as other information learned from onsite company visits to determine potential borrower's credit worthiness before making a loan decision or recommending a loan for consideration by the Loan Committee.
- Authorizes and/or recommends approval of loan applications; approves loans within specified limits or refers loans to Loan Committee for approval. Ensures that the loan structure is appropriate and adequately protects the organization. Ensures that all loan documentation is complete, accurate and as approved.
- Ensures an appropriate balance between credit quality and commercial loan growth by keeping business development and credit risk in appropriate balance. Makes quality loans that do not exceed any limitations established by the organization or its regulators.
- Monitors commercial loan portfolio to ensure conformity with terms, proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems. Ensures timely submission and review of financial information, loan documents and other submissions. Proactively notifies management of credit deterioration and ensures all action items are executed in a timely manner. Services delinquent and problem accounts.
- Recommends to the Board all loan charge-offs when required due to the failure of the borrower to keep the loan current or due to the deterioration in the value of the real estate securing the loan.
- Ensures that all staff actions are in compliance with all required laws and regulations relating to the lending functions as well as Rosedale Federal loan policy and guidelines.
- Performs management responsibilities to include coaching, training and managing staff performance.
- Recommends strategies necessary to ensure efficiency, profitability, and the highest quality customer experience within areas of responsibility.
- Provides expert advice and interprets changes to commercial lending procedures; responds to staff and customer loan questions and issues; interprets bank policy and procedures and analyzes risk to determine appropriate action to be taken.
- Generates reports for the Chief Lending Officer and Board of Directors. Provides analysis of metrics to measure performance to goals.
- Represents the organization by becoming involved in civic, cultural, charitable and educational endeavors in the communities served.
- Partners with Senior Leadership on the development and implementation of strategies to grow the commercial lending and business banking offerings.
- Understands and champions the Bank's mission, strategies, initiatives, and core values to Commercial Lending employees.
- Stays abreast of federal and state regulations and laws governing commercial lending; recommends modifications or revisions to bank policies related to commercial lending; develops and implements procedures to comply with federal and state regulations and laws.
- Completes all assigned online or in-person Compliance, Human Resources, and Departmental training modules/classes.

What we are looking for:
- College degree in business, finance or related field, or equivalent experience in the industry.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in commercial lending with at least 5 years in business banking.
- 5+ years in a management role within commercial lending.
- In depth knowledge of banking industry, and specifically all laws and regulations relating to commercial real estate (CRE) and C&I Lending. In depth knowledge of regulations relating to commercial lending is required.
- Strong credit analysis/underwriting skills and analytical ability.
- Strong sales/business development and customer service skills.
- Strong business acumen and a high level of professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; experience collaborating at all levels across the organization and with a variety of external customers.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, coach, and train staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (50% of the time).
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Requires ability to conduct onsite property inspections.
- Requires flexibility with schedule.
