Manager Facilities Operations
Under the supervision of the Field Director, The Manager assist in the development, implementation and administration of programs to maintain the mechanical, HVAC/Refrigeration, carpentry, machine, paint shops, grounds and equipment at specified NYP sites. Through effective and efficient utilization of personnel and material, manage, coordinate and oversee all staff and activities, including construction and capital projects at specified locations. Coordinates, manages and oversees all activities to ensure effective installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and services in compliance with established codes, standards, and procedures. Conducts regular on-site inspections to ensure implementation and maintenance of prescribed work standards, coordinates inter-shop activities to ensure smooth and efficient job completion. Supervises and directs activities of outside contractors for new and alteration work; monitors adherence to codes and standards and ensure project completion. Manages budget for shops assigned and assures compliance to the budget each year.
Monitors special projects. Provides engineering support and direction to OFD for capital projects during design and construction. Coordinates shutdowns, reviews shop drawings and commission all projects prior to project completion. Responds to emergency calls for floods, fires etc., coordinate emergency activities, and contact appropriate others. Conducts tests and shutdowns and maintain appropriate documentation. Oversees major emergency repairs for MEP systems. Maintains thorough and up-to-date knowledge of MEP systems and equipment at assigned NYP campuses.
Must maintain effective communication with administration, department head staff, outside agents and appropriate others to ensure effective physical plant operations. Acts as liaison between hospital departments and shop personnel to ensure effective services. Addresses job related inquiries, responds to problems and takes corrective action, refers unresolved matters to appropriate senior staff as necessary.
Responsible for overseeing shop personnel development and resolving potential performance issues. Provides staff guidance and direction, responsible for assigning work and scheduling, oversees on-the-job training. Monitors performance and adherence to all department policies and procedures, specifically attendance policies. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and orientation of employees in assigned areas.
Must be available via cell phone for emergency calls on a 24/7 basis.
This is a full time position located at NewYork Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Required Criteria
- Eight - ten years of occupational-specific experience
- Knowledge of existing City, State, Federal Codes
- Ability to read and interpret Blue Prints
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Business Process and Communications
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Knowledge in the use of CMMS systems to organize and track staff work performance
Preferred Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Architecture
- Trade specific licenses as per Trade

Salary Range:
$143,500-$185,000/Annual
