A Day In The Life
The Manager, Compliance and Ethics, under the leadership of the Chief Global Compliance Officer, will bring value-added services to the compliance team and Business Conduct Program (BCP). The Manager directs implementation of and assures business wide consistency in approach to compliance and standards of business conduct. The position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, lead and direct the work of others and utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude to accomplish the department's objectives.
As a Mgr, Compliance & Ethics you will:
- Functions as ethics advisor under the direction of the Chief Global Compliance Officer, responding to business unit requests for opinion, including advice to Corporate and Business Unit leadership on planning, organizing, and administering courses of action to resolve ethics issues.
- Collaborates with line management and other staff functions, including Local Compliance Officers, to integrate ethics and compliance into the total scope of the business and recommends strategies (training, communications, etc.) to reinforce proper conduct.
- Manage, maintain and improve compliance related technology systems and services used for due diligence of third parties, conflicts of interest, confidential helplines and policy development, storage, training and acknowledgment.
- Manage and develop continuous programs for training, communicating, implementing and monitoring all aspects of the Business Conduct Program, including preparation of regular activity reports.
- Design and manage execution of business unit and company wide training initiatives.
- Develop and execute projects and procedures to improve the overall function of the Business Conduct Program by leveraging technology and/or other Company resources with a focus on monitoring.
- Identify, research and draft policies and business practices reflecting changes in legislation, regulation, and trade/industry best practices.
- Develops and assures that local procedures are in place for preventing and addressing violations of Our Values and standard of business conduct, including procedures for investigating and resolving allegations and for appropriate and consistent corrective action.
- Develop and maintain strong partnership with HR, Legal, Risk, Audit and Local Compliance Officers to evaluate risks based upon business location and sector and ensure changes to the legal and regulatory landscape are updated/included in the Compliance Risk Assessments, compliance audits and policies/procedures.
- Assist during internal investigations, if requested.
- Manage multiple projects at a time while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate (oral & written) department's goals/objectives and develop various forms of media to present to multiple audiences.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree Req
- 5-7 years related business experience in a corporate ethics position. Required
- Knowledge of HR, Legal, Security, Finance, Audit understanding of business unit's compliance process, ethical reasoning and decision making. Overview of relevant laws, practices sensitivity to diversity, ethnic, cultural, industry differences, and is adept at training and public speaking. (Medium proficiency)
- Interpersonal Skills should include, Change Management Influencing, team building, quickly establishes credibility and trust, trustworthiness, and shows respect. (Medium proficiency)
- Creative and curious with a passion for building, creating and improving compliance related processes and controls. Eager to learn new business areas and roll-up their sleeves to deliver change. (Medium proficiency)
- Strong attention to detail and exemplary follow through required. Must be able to work effectively and professionally in a deadline-driven environment. (High proficiency)
- Self-motivated and results oriented individual with strong time management and project delivery skills. (Medium proficiency)
- Mastery of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.) and comfort and facility with technology tools such as PowerBI, ChatGPT, and common compliance specialty software and cloud services. (Medium proficiency)
- Demonstrate strong analyzing, planning, and coordinating skills. Demonstrate ability to organize people, processes and activities to get project/tasks done on time and effectively. (Medium proficiency)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (High proficiency)
- Superior writing skills and ability to cull complex issues down to easy-to-understand text. (High proficiency)
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of associates and maintain strictest levels of confidentiality. (High proficiency)
Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
Travel Requirements
20% local and domestic travel may be required.
