Maximus is currently hiring for a Manager - Client Policy and Operations Support to join our State Arbitration team. This is a remote opportunity. The Manager - Client Policy and Operations Support is responsible for ensuring the team is compliant with each program's laws. Additionally, the Manager will act as escalation for arbitration issues, consistently report on various state-based metrics, complete quality checks, and communicate directly with clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal research, guidance, advice, leadership, and training to project staff, ensuring compliance with all project and client policies/procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Interact with the client regarding case decisions.
- Guide teams to ensure all major client/legal requirements are met and relevant documents are captured accurately.
- Provide self-directed legal support to the project leadership.
- Process and resolve high profile and complex cases.
- Manage direct reports, including hiring, setting monthly individual/team goals, and evaluating employee performance.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated work environment.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Work across multiple systems, such as SharePoint, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrate good standing with the state agency that licenses, registers, or otherwise regulates attorneys in the state(s) in which they practice.
- Experience in matters related to healthcare billing and healthcare reimbursement required.
- Must be trained by the American Arbitration Association or the American Health Law Association and be able to provided evidence of this training's completion.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required.
- 3-5 years of related professional experience.
- Knowledge of and experience working with explanation of benefits and claim forms highly preferred.
- Experience working with the FAIR Health platform preferred.
- Familiar with Surprise Billing regulations, rules, and policies; and claims Arbitration procedures/practices preferred.
- Ability to work a schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm EST Monday - Friday required.

Home Office Requirements:
- Internet speed of 20mbps or higher required / 50 Mpbs for shared internet connectivity (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)

- Connectivity to the internet via either Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router
- Private work area and adequate power source
- Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
