Overview
Responsible for performing installations, maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC work in retail stores, warehouses, office buildings, and other facilities. Responsible for providing guidance to other technicians. This associate must have reliable personal transportation and be able to travel daily to various locations within the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The associate will perform strenuous work on a regular basis and must be able to work occasional evenings, weekends and/or holidays, while also answering and dispatching emergency calls as needed. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. With minimal supervision, responsible for installations, maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC systems, fixture repair and assembly, as well as other general handyman tasks in retail stores, warehouses, office buildings, and other facilities as needed. Identifies, maintains and implements solutions for assigned tasks. Evaluate problematic systems of facilities and determine what repair services need to be performed by others. Provide suggestions and recommendations as needed.
2. Updates our computerized maintenance management system in a timely manner as assigned tasks are completed or issues arise that prevent completion.
3. Answer and dispatch emergency calls as directed by the Sr. Director of Property and Project Management.
4. Purchases repair and maintenance materials as needed. Maintains and sock supply inventory; gathers and compiles information.
5. Performs all assigned tasks in a safe, workmanlike manner, and in accordance with any local building code requirements.
6. Tracks mileage and other reimbursable expenses and submits properly completed expense report at least once per month.
7. This position requires daily travel within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Flexibility in work hours and the ability to work occasional nights and/or weekends is required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide senior level guidance and training.
2. Administers and services the core locking system that is installed at all locations.
3. Clock in and out for work shifts and lunch on the company’s timekeeping system.
4. Complete required monthly safety training and any other required training.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent plus five to seven years’ experience in maintenance of a commercial or institutional facility.
2. Considerable knowledge and experience of heating, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general equipment repair.
3. Ability and understanding of various Federal, State and County codes and regulations involving construction, installation, fire, safety and sanitation.
4. Must have own reliable transportation and valid “clear” driver’s license and be able to drive to any location within the Goodwill market area.
5. Basic knowledge of commercial retail property operations.
6. Proficient in using Email, Excel, and Word.
7. Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
8. Ability to prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Associate’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
