Malace|HR is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to work at an automotive manufacturer in Lansing, MI. The role will be Tuesday-Saturday on 2nd shift. Upon being hired in by our Client full time, the role will come with FULLY PAID Union Benefits
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance on all building and critical system equipment
- Installs and repairs plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild industrial air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment
- Monitors operation and maintains refrigeration, industrial chilled water and air conditioning equipment; industrial high-pressure boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions
- Must be able to identify and prioritize major and critical alarms, and must respond to them by taking the necessary measures, as well as to document these measures.
- Check and monitor the emergency generators during power outages.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications Requirements:
- Ability to operate and use a broad spectrum of tools and equipment skillfully and safely perform heavy physical labor; read and comprehend plans and blueprints.
- Some knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction trades such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems, including materials and tools; applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- EPA Universal License
- Valid state driver's license in good standing.
- 2 years minimum trade experience (trade license preferred).
- Superior customer service skills and orientation.
