We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Team Leader to oversee a team of maintenance mechanics and electricians in a manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment, coordinating maintenance activities, and providing technical guidance to the maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs the day-to-day activities of assigned area in conjunction with or in the absence of supervision.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, answer questions, and make decisions on written instructions and departmental procedures.
- Be able to perform multiple operations simultaneously.
- Be able to troubleshoot problems and make repairs in the areas of his specialties either from experience or with the aid of manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. W
- Work requires good skills in reading, writing, and math, the ability to transmit orders and directives to other employees, and to post, interpret, and check a variety of routine production reports.
- Must often use independent judgment to diagnose equipment problems and analyze best method for desired results.
- Must have a high degree of manual dexterity and be mechanically inclined.
- Using Computers (entering information, etc.)
- Comply with all sites required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring that equipment downtime is minimized, and production schedules are met.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and increase overall equipment efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, performing repairs or coordinating with external vendors as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among the maintenance team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in maintenance practices and recommend process improvements and equipment upgrades as necessary.
- Communicates with supervision regarding problems, decisions, and production requirements.
- Answers questions and makes decisions regarding day-to-day operations.
- Aids the supervisor in maintaining safe working conditions and good housekeeping practices.
Maintains and records work order data. - Maintains departmental supplies.
- Regularly leads a group of six or more employees.
- Assists supervisor in maintaining departmental morale and efficiency.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Works overtime as needed.
- Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment.
