Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Specialist at our Pampa Plant. This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of plant equipment, machinery, vehicles, plumbing, and other mechanical crafts. Additionally, this position performs preventative maintenance while maintaining the highest regard for safety and the environment. This position is key to keeping our facilities running safely, producing quality products, and supporting both our commercial and R&D projects.

How You Will Make an Impact
In this role your main duties will be to inspect, install, troubleshoot, adjust and repair mechanical equipment and facilities. You will work from specifications and complex drawings, manuals, verbal/written instructions. You will assemble and disassembles equipment to isolate and diagnose; corrects equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing defective parts. This position installs and uninstalls processing equipment as needed.
This role requires a highly safety minded, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, strong troubleshooting skills, and urgency to make things happen while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards and best practices.
A successful candidate will be someone who can:
Maintain and repairs plumbing pipes, valves, and fittings for service in water, oil, feedstock, and steam.Preform basic welding and fabrication to support maintenance activitiesUse a variety of hand and power tools and proficient in rigging for lifting or moving equipment.Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems adhering to established schedules.Document work completed, steps taken, and parts used to facilitate maintenance planning and regulatory compliance.Keep working area and maintenance shop safe and clean.Complete other responsibilities and duties as assigned, as well as identify and escalate needs.Supports effort to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

What You Will Bring to Cabot
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Basic skills in welding and fabricationPreferred Qualifications
Successfully completed structural welding tests for carbon steel.Two-year College Associates Degree or Technical degree/certificate.Full knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures and methods; knowledge of equipment and related tools, including hand tools, grinders, saws, drills, etc.Knowledge of a variety of machine tools, mechanical parts, bearings, gears, and others.Familiarity with mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic control systemsAbility to interpret blueprints and drawings; perform required shop mathematicsMechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to promptly diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions.Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment.Flexibility in performing changing assignments; ability to work off shift and after hours as needed.Ability to work 7AM – 3:30PM with 30 minute on site lunch.Ability to be on-call as needed and work nights and weekends periodically.
