Salary: $70,137 or $33.72/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a chemical client in Blue Island, IL. The role begins each day with a safety meeting, followed by addressing scheduled work orders, which may include tasks like repairing or replacing valves and piping, and resetting circuit breakers. The mechanic will also handle preventative maintenance throughout the plant, such as pump lubrication, routine fluid checks, and heat transfer descaling. Responsibilities encompass general facility maintenance (e.g., painting, filter and light bulb replacement), periodic plant inspections (e.g., safety showers, emergency exits), and basic mechanical work. The role involves rotating equipment repairs, unblocking closed systems, demolition work, forklift operation, and routine preventative maintenance. Additionally, the mechanic will monitor water treatment chemistry, assist with MRO inventory control, and interpret piping specifications and P&IDs. Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the position offers training in areas where the mechanic may need further development, provided they have experience in basic piping and plumbing within an industrial maintenance setting.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experienced in industrial maintenance with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good work ethic / Willingness to Learn.
• Ability to speak in detail on knowledge of mechanical systems and related equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

PLUSSES:

• Proficient in the use of general plant equipment, including but not limited to: boilers / deaerators, air compressors, water softeners, water dealkalizers, cooling towers.
