POSITION SUMMARY:
As a representative of Burger Boat Company, this position creates and promotes a safe and productive culture. This role builds and maintains a maintenance department that promotes safety while ensuring all equipment in an office, building, or landscape is being taken care of. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining maintenance documents as well as creating and maintaining specific KPI's in regards to the maintenance department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Work with Human Resources to determine and fulfill department staffing needs
Work with the Storeroom and Purchasing Department to order parts needed for jobs.
Plan all maintenance programs at least one year out.
Manage all work involving maintenance of the boatyard, buildings and machinery.
Always preserve the yard in a clean and professional appearance with minimal downtime or degradation of buildings and equipment, regardless of all other workloads.
Initiate and disburse job and work schedules to maintenance and cleaning personnel.
Track employee performance against established standards.
Implement a Preventative Maintenance program for all production equipment and machinery to ensure minimal downtime or degradation of equipment.
Manage the execution and completion of planned and approved maintenance schedules.
Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce a flexible schedule for maintenance personnel to ensure coordination with production schedules.
Research, recommend and implement improvements to facility, machinery, and equipment to help reduce cost, improve process flow and enhance efficiencies.
Research, propose and implement approved processes that will reduce cost and improve overall usage of utilities.
Recommend and submit suggestions for the Capital Expenditure plan for Burger’s entire operation during Q3 annually.
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
POSITION IN ORGANIZATION:
This position reports directly to Manufacturing leadership. This position will have direct reports.

Exercise judgment consistent with Burger’s mission, vision, and code of business conduct regularly and continuously. Exercise administrative judgment on a regular and continuous basis and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, progress, and quality of service within the company. This position has the authority to stop a process that does not conform to Burger’s quality standards and/or presents a safety hazard.

Must possess excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and written skills, including the ability to listen, talk, and teach. Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing positively and effectively with employees, co-workers, suppliers, and vendors. Demonstrate an all-pervasive positive attitude.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage. Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role
Experience in planning maintenance operations
Must comply with all shipyard safety rules, including wearing all required Personal Protective
Equipment.
Ensure all clients, guests/visitors, and vendors understand and comply with all safety rules, including wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment while on any Burger premises.
Solid understanding of technical aspect of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to tolerate the motions induced during sea trials. Must be physically able to handle all physical requirements of maintaining buildings and equipment which includes, but is not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting and periodic lifting of 25 pounds. Must have full control and use of all limbs and the ability to climb stairs and ladders and must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time over the course of the shift.
