Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:This is a salaried position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the Plant Manager. The Maintenance Manager performs a hands-on role & is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of plant equipment & systems, to ensure maximum production quantity & quality, while supporting the policies, goals, & objectives of the company.
SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION:- Participates in objective setting, plan development & performance review of plant performance.
- Initiates, implements, & manages the plant maintenance program with an emphasis on planning/scheduling & preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Monitors the use & inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, & equipment; also initiates reordering when necessary.
- Maintains & repairs maintenance shop equipment.
- Establishes & maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, & maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, & makes recommendations for improving plant operations & solving maintenance-related problems.
- Manages plant maintenance personnel.
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, & motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, & cost-effective manner & by minimizing overtime.
- Conducts annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, & contribution.
- Maintains & updates operating & training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Monitors operation of plant equipment & systems.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment & systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems in a timely manner, & identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiates & conducts projects that improve efficiency &/or reduce operating costs.
- Tracks, analyzes, & improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Ensures that all equipment is operational & OSHA compliant.
- Coordinates activities with Plant Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
- A.A. Degree from a college or University in a related technical field or certificate/diploma from a trade school in related field.
- 8 years' experience in maintenance &/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Experience with repairs/maintenance of processing equipment & maintaining a computerized maintenance management system.
- Must have prior supervisory experience.
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally & written.
- Competence with MS, Word, Excel, & Outlook.
- Experience managing in a fast-paced plant operation.
Salary Description
$120,000.00
